Aussie Gourmet Chef Naomi Nachman to Host Pre-Hanukah Cooking Demo

The Festival of Hanukah is a time when all look forward to gourmet treats and traditional dishes. In celebration of Hanukah 2021, Chabad of Nashville will welcome Kosher celebrity chef Naomi Nachman, author of the best-selling cookbooks, Perfect Flavors and Perfect for Passover, that focus on the everyday as well as holiday cooking.  Naomi will host a pre-holiday cooking demo for the Nashville Jewish Community on Sunday, November 21, at 6:00 PM, featuring a selection of recipes from Perfect Flavor.

Nachman’s everyday approach to cooking, one shared by many of today’s leading kosher chefs, is to incorporate as many exotic flavors as there are available to kashrut observers. She has travelled the globe and recreated her flavor memories, so that everyone can enjoy Korean-inspired beef ribs, for example.

The Australian-born Nachman is the creator of The Aussie Gourmet, through which she works as a personal chef, television, and radio guest, and produces her own version of kosher “Chopped” competitions as a team-building activity for corporations. In addition to being a celebrity chef, Naomi is also passionate about being the ultimate host, whether she is welcoming guests to her dinner table or is the one invited out for a meal. In the event that she is the guest, she has developed what she considers the ideal contribution to any meal: Lotus Biscoff Cookie Butter Bars (which are actually pareve).

And while Nachman is as innovative in her own realm as the latest round of kosher food writers and bloggers, the Perfect Flavors author makes a point to not push the limits as far as some others may (think fake bacon, for instance, which Nachman eschews). When asked what her favorite recipe is from the new collection, she simply answered, “They are all my favorite, that’s why I’ve included them in the book.”

If you were wondering what this influencer on the New York kosher food scene is eating for dinner on any given night, it might just be the beer-glazed wings, bourbon-marinated steak, fish tacos or brisket fries from the new book. Which is fine by me, if there will also be enough of her glazed merlot chocolate cake and chocolate martinis to go around for dessert.

Naomi has her own cooking show on Kosher.com called Sunny Side Up, an also hosts her own weekly show, “Table for Two with Naomi Nachman” on The Nachum Segal Network, which covers all kosher food-related topics.  In addition, she writes a monthly column for the Mishpacha magazine covering food trends and is also a contributing editor to The Jewish Home newspaper distributed in the North East writing weekly articles and recipes. Naomi has also been a guest host on the QVC TV network and has been featured in cookbooks, a cooking CD and a variety of newspaper articles covering topics related to cuisine preparation and personal chefs.

Participants of the pre-Hanukah cooking demo with Naomi Nachman will get to feast on a delicious dinner including appetizers, entrée, and desserts, while observing the chef in action, demonstrating the techniques and skills of preparing a most delicious and a fun pre-Chanukah dinner. This event is a unique opportunity to spend an evening with a world renowned chef and author of four kosher cookbooks and get new recipes and ideas for their Passover Seder and Shabbat Table.

RSVP is required to participate and can made at www.chabadnashville.com. For more information, please call Chabad of Nashville at 615-646-5750
