I am deeply concerned about the Israel/Hamas war. This is not the first time Israel has fought for its existence. Over the past 75 years, Israel has distinguished itself many times in clashes with its neighbors and foes. For those who question the Jewish people’s right to Israel, let me remind you this is not a new problem or an easy solution. Almost 50 years ago, we were addressing the same issues. As a Jewish student, I was asked to defend Israel’s right to exist. Below is what I wrote:
