This past weekend white nationalists marched in downtown Nashville, as they did in other cities around the country. This is the latest in a growing presence of extremist groups in Middle Tennessee. The Jewish Federation of Greater Nashville was swift in its response, posting on its social media platforms and through email on Saturday night. Several local elected and community leaders also expressed their outrage, including Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell.
The group is in violation of city ordinances, including Chapter 11.12.040 against face coverings and Chapter 12.56 requiring advance notice to Metro police about marching on city streets. The Federation is calling for MNPD to enforce these rules for any group in violation.
Below is a current list of those who also condemned the march.
